- Next step

Level 2 is the foundation -
not occupational competence.

After achieving the complete diploma, continue to Level 3 and the later workplace NVQ and AM2 stages required on the route toward qualified-electrician status.

- Frequently Asked

Everything you need
to know, upfront.

Is Level 2 Online fully remote?

No. The required theory learning, knowledge checks and theory examinations are completed online. You must attend the one-week practical training and assessment block at LTS Cheshunt. The block includes supervised practical training and the required practical assignments, which cannot be completed remotely and must be completed to achieve the qualification.

Can complete beginners take this course?

Yes. No previous electrical qualification or site experience is required. The subject starts at foundation level, but the online format requires consistent independent study. If you would prefer a fixed classroom timetable with more supervised centre time, book a free consultation to compare the online and classroom routes before buying.

When is the practical training and assessment block scheduled?

After you complete the required online theory modules and examinations, LTS reviews your progress and confirms whether you are assessment-ready. LTS then schedules the one-week practical training and assessment block at Cheshunt subject to centre availability. Purchasing does not assign a date and does not guarantee a learner-selected date.

Is the practical training and assessment block included in £2,399?

Yes. The £2,399 full course price includes the required online theory stage, the listed knowledge examinations and one in-centre week of supervised practical training and required practical assignments at LTS Cheshunt. There is no deposit, reservation fee or payment plan for this direct-purchase offer. Re-sits or replacement sessions may incur separate fees under the course terms.

Where do the examinations and assessments take place?

The Unit 201/601, 202/602, 203 and 210 knowledge examinations for this online route are completed online in accordance with the applicable assessment controls. The Unit 204 wiring practical assignment and Unit 211 health-and-safety practical assignment are completed in person during the one-week practical training and assessment block at LTS Cheshunt.

What equipment do I need for the online portion?

A computer or tablet with internet access for the online theory modules and assessments. All tools, PPE and materials for the in-centre practical training and assessment block are provided at the centre.

Does completing the online theory achieve the qualification?

No. Online theory completion is only one stage. You must also pass the required knowledge examinations and complete the compulsory practical assignments at LTS Cheshunt before the City & Guilds qualification can be achieved.

What happens if I fail an exam or practical?

LTS will explain the required preparation, the next available re-sit route and any applicable fee before you re-attempt an examination or practical assessment.

Does this course make me a qualified electrician or prove occupational competence?

No. This is the City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 technical diploma. It is not an NVQ and it does not by itself prove workplace occupational competence or complete the ECS Gold Card route. It provides a foundation for Level 3 and, later, an appropriate work-based competence route.

Can I progress to Level 3 after Level 2 Online?

After achieving the City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 qualification, you can discuss progression to the appropriate Level 3 route. Becoming occupationally competent and completing the ECS Gold Card pathway requires further qualifications, work-based assessment and the relevant end assessment; this Level 2 diploma does not provide those outcomes on its own.
