The exact qualification is the City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment), code 2357-13 and accreditation number 501/2232/0. Eligible candidates must register by 31 October 2026, complete the qualification and separately pass NET AM2. An ECS Installation Electrician Gold Card application also requires current ECS health-and-safety and recognised BS 7671 evidence; ECS decides the application.
2357-13 is a time-limited workplace competency qualification with a 31 October 2026 registration deadline. 2346-03 is a separate Experienced Worker route with its own eligibility and assessment rules. LTS must map your actual prior learning, experience and current work against the relevant current route; a simple under/over-five-years rule is not enough.
You need continuing access to suitable, lawful electrical-installation work so the required performance evidence can be produced and authenticated. Employment status by itself is not enough, and a gap in suitable work can prevent progress. Ask LTS to assess your work scope and explain any pause, transfer or withdrawal terms before registration.
The current 2357-13 handbook and assessment documents govern prior learning, theory, practical and RPL requirements. LTS must map your actual certificates and experience rather than treating every Level 2, Level 3, BS 7671 or inspection-and-testing certificate as automatically equivalent. Written eligibility and registration confirmation are required before any commitment.
City & Guilds publishes 104 credits, 726 guided learning hours and 1,040 total qualification hours as qualification-size measures rather than a promised LTS duration. Registration closes on 31 October 2026 and final certification is 31 December 2029. LTS must confirm a viable written evidence, assessment, AM2 and certification schedule before you commit.
The current handbook and assessment documents determine the exact evidence and observation requirements. Evidence must be relevant, valid, authentic, current and sufficient for the mapped units. LTS must provide an individual evidence plan before registration; do not assume informal jobs or unrelated projects will be accepted.
Tell us your current qualifications and we will confirm the right EV or renewable route before you commit.
