2391-51 is a recognised way to evidence periodic inspection and testing competence for EICR work. Landlord electrical safety reports must still be completed by a competent person, so you also need suitable experience, insurance and any employer or scheme requirements.
The 2391-51 route includes a written theory paper and a practical Periodic Inspection assessment. The classroom days prepare you for the theory stage, then you complete a full practical assessment day in centre using the test rig.
Choose 2391-51 if you only need Periodic Inspection for existing installations, EICRs and condition reporting. Choose 2391-52 if you also need Initial Verification for new installations. The combined 2391-52 route is usually the better option for electricians who want both areas covered.
