No. If you have trade experience, we assess your existing competence and create a personalised plan. You skip what you already know and focus only on the gaps.
You'll need 18th Edition, Inspection & Testing (2391), NVQ Level 3, and to pass the AM2 assessment. Our Gold Card package covers everything except the AM2 itself, which must be booked separately through an external provider (e.g. JTL, NET, or BPEC). We include AM2 preparation support.
Yes. The NVQ assessment happens at your workplace — our assessor visits your site to observe and verify your competence. Site visits are included for workplaces within 15 miles of our centre; a supplementary travel fee applies beyond this distance. Classroom courses like 18th Edition and I&T are available on flexible schedules including weekends.
The NVQ element typically takes 6–12 months for experienced workers — you can use your existing experience to skip some qualifications. The total Gold Card timeline depends on your starting point and how quickly the NVQ observations can be completed. Much faster than the standard beginner route.
