Hosted at Learn Trade Skills’ state-of-the-art training centre in Cheshunt, this free, hands-on event is designed to give you real insight and confidence before taking the next step in your career.

Our Electrical Open Day is designed to give you a genuine taste of what it means to train, qualify, and work as a professional electrician in the UK. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a hands-on worker looking to certify your experience, or someone changing careers, this event is tailored for you.

What Is the Electrical Open Day?

Our Open Day offers an exclusive opportunity to step inside our training centre in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire and explore how LTS can support your journey to becoming a fully qualified electrician. You’ll take part in free taster sessions, meet tutors, and tour our industry-standard facilities.

Explore Our 3 Training Pathways

At Learn Trade Skills, we understand that every learner has a different background. That’s why we’ve built three distinct routes to help you gain the qualifications you need through our expert-led electrical courses.

1. Fully Qualified Electrician Route – Gold Card Package

This is ideal for complete beginners or those with zero experience in electrical work.

Courses Included:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installations (2365)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations (2365)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (2382)
  • Part P Building Regulations (2393)
  • Inspection & Testing (2391-52)
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (2357)

Study Options:

  • Full-time (15 weeks): In-centre, Monday to Friday
  • Part-time (30 weeks): One day + one evening per week

Both options include a 12-month NVQ portfolio leading to the ECS Gold Card.

2. Fast Track Route – Fast Track Gold Card Package

Ideal for those with 1–4 years of site experience but without formal qualifications.

Courses Included:

  • Fast-Track Level 2 & 3 Diplomas (2365)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Part P Building Regulations
  • Inspection & Testing (2391-52)
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (2357)

Study Option:

  • Day-release (24 weeks): One day a week (Mondays), allowing you to continue working while training

You can complete your NVQ portfolio alongside your current job and build confidence through our electrical courses.

3. Experienced Worker Route – Experienced Worker Package

For electricians with 5+ years of on-site experience but no formal qualifications.

Courses Included:

  • Online Level 2 Diploma (2365)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Inspection & Testing (2391-52)
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical (2346)
  • Optional: Part P Building Regulations

Study Options:

  • Flexible online + in-centre learning
  • Up to 18 months to complete the NVQ portfolio

This route is especially beneficial for self-employed electricians or those applying to NICEIC or NAPIT schemes. These advanced electrical courses are designed to certify your real-world experience.
