Basic Electrical Course Explained

This EAL-approved Basic Electrical Course combines theory-based learning with guided practical workshops. Learners gain hands-on electrical training working with tools, consumer units, and real-world domestic electrical setups. The programme covers:

  • Electrical theory: voltage, current, resistance, and Ohm’s Law.
  • Safe use of electrical tools and testing equipment.
  • Identifying, stripping, and terminating electrical cables and wiring.
  • Understanding circuit protection, fuses, and consumer unit components.
  • Lighting and switching circuit principles for domestic systems.
  • Performing safe isolation and fault-finding procedures.
  • Health & Safety and CPD awareness, including Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, and Working at Heights training.

No previous qualifications are required — just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

  1. Basic Electrical Theory – Voltage, current, resistance, and AC/DC basics explained clearly as part of our EAL-approved Basic Electrical Course.

  3. Cable Types & Termination – Identify, strip, and terminate electrical cables safely following industry-standard wiring practices.
