Effective Date: 1st April 2025
These Terms and Conditions govern all course bookings made with Learn Trade Skills CIC (“LTS CIC”), a Community Interest Company registered in the United Kingdom. Learn Trade Skills Ltd (“LTS Ltd”), a separate legal entity, remains responsible for examination and certification services only and owns copyright of the Learn Trade Skills brand. By booking a course with LTS CIC, you agree to be bound by the following terms. These terms apply whether you are booking for yourself or on behalf of another individual or group.
1. DEFINITIONS
1.1. “LTS CIC” refers to Learn Trade Skills CIC, responsible for course bookings, training delivery, and student support.
1.2. “LTS Ltd” refers to Learn Trade Skills Ltd, responsible solely for examination and certification administration.
1.3. “Student” refers to the individual enrolled in a course.
1.4. “You” refers to the person or entity placing the booking.
2. BOOKING PROCESS AND ELIGIBILITY
2.1. Booking Methods: Courses may be booked via LTS CIC’s website, by telephone, or in person. Confirmation of a place will be sent via email or post, detailing course specifics.
2.2. Eligibility Assessment: Submission of a booking does not guarantee enrolment. LTS CIC will assess eligibility and may require interviews or assessments.
2.3. Right to Refuse Booking: LTS CIC reserves the right to cancel a booking in cases of:
- Ineligibility
- Inaccurate information
- Unsuitability of course
Full refunds will be issued unless the cancellation results from non-compliance with these terms.
2.4. Student Requirements:
- Proficient in written and spoken English
- Reasonable physical fitness
- Compliant with industry-specific demands
LTS CIC bears no responsibility for consequences of unfulfilled eligibility criteria.
3. FEES AND PAYMENTS
3.1. Payment Deadlines: Full course fees must be paid no later than 21 days before the Course Registration Date.
3.2. Payment Methods: Accepted payment methods include debit/credit card and BACS transfer.
3.3. Installment Options: Installments may be permitted. Weekly installments must be paid in person via card at reception.
3.4. VAT: All fees include VAT unless otherwise specified.
4. EXCEPTIONS TO STANDARD PAYMENT TERMS
4.1. Extended Courses: Alternative payment terms may be applicable under a written agreement.
4.2. Final Payment: Full payment must be completed before the final exam registration deadline, specified in your confirmation.
5. NON-PAYMENT OF FEES
Failure to make timely payments may result in the Student being denied access to the course or exam.
6. COURSE MATERIALS
Materials will be delivered electronically or by post. All content is protected under copyright and may not be reproduced without prior written consent.
7. COURSE CHANGES
7.1. Rescheduling Fees:
- £50 for individual courses
- £150 for package courses
Requests must be submitted in writing at least 21 days prior to the Course Registration Date.
7.2. Within 21 Days: No changes are allowed within 21 days of the start date.
7.3. Personal Details: Changes to name or date of birth will incur a £150 fee and require proof of ID.
8. CANCELLATIONS
8.1. Cooling-Off Period: You may cancel:
- Within 14 days of booking
- At least 22 days before the Course Registration Date
8.2. Refunds During Cooling-Off: Full refunds will be granted, minus administrative fees:
- £50 for short courses
- £150 for longer courses
8.3. Outside Cooling-Off:
- Deposits are non-refundable
- Cancellations within 21 days of start require full payment
8.4. Online Courses: Refunds are only applicable if the learning platform has not been accessed during the cooling-off period.
9. ATTENDANCE AND ABSENCES
9.1. Mandatory Attendance: Full attendance is required. No refunds are issued for absences.
9.2. Extreme Weather/Transport: LTS CIC is not liable for non-attendance due to weather or transport issues.
9.3. Exceptional Circumstances: May be considered at LTS CIC’s discretion for rescheduling.
10. LIABILITY
10.1. Cap on Liability: LTS CIC’s liability is limited to the amount paid for the course.
10.2. Exclusions: No liability is accepted for indirect or consequential losses.
10.3. Mandatory Liability: These terms do not exclude liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
11. DISCLAIMER ON CAREER OUTCOMES
LTS CIC does not guarantee employment, career progression, or competence upon course completion. Any such statements are expressions of opinion only.
12. COURSE VALIDITY
12.1. Qualification Routes: Subject to change based on industry standards and accrediting body regulations.
12.2. Training Period: All training must be completed within 12 months from the booking date.
13. CODE OF CONDUCT
Students must adhere to all LTS CIC conduct policies. Breaches may result in removal from the course without reimbursement.
14. TOOLS AND BOOKS
Separate purchase agreements apply. Returns and refunds are governed by a distinct policy.
15. DATA PROTECTION
15.1. GDPR Compliance: By submitting personal data, you consent to processing by both LTS CIC and LTS Ltd for administrative and promotional purposes.
15.2. Communication Methods: Contact may be made via SMS, email, WhatsApp, phone (including AI systems).
15.3. CRM Usage: Your data may be stored in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms.
15.4. Third-Party Booking: If booking for another, you agree to:
- Provide accurate contact information for the Student
- Ensure the Student is informed of and consents to data usage
15.5. Data Liability: LTS CIC is not responsible for GDPR breaches arising from your failure to inform third parties.
16. EXAMINATIONS
16.1. Regulations: Subject to accrediting body rules. Resit fees are the Student’s responsibility.
16.2. Complaints: Must be submitted in writing to the Centre Directing Manager.
